In the article, the experimental methods of obtaining coke from the substances obtained as a result of deep processing of heavy oil residues, the composition of coke, as well as the fields of use of coke are mentioned. Thus, it is known that the production of petroleum coke in modern and highly efficient facilities by the method of gradual coking of residual oil products is very widespread in production. Production of large-sized electrodes working with high-voltage currents, production of structured carbon materials, production of bitumen, anti-corrosion coatings, hydro-insulation materials, etc. The process of obtaining coke from various oil refining residues in laboratory conditions is one of the practical methods and has been studied at the temperature range of 490-510°C and under atmospheric pressure. 100g of raw materials were added to the quartz reactor and heated to 490°C at a constant rate, and then the coking process was carried out at 510°C for 2 hours. Both tar and tar deasphalting product were used for coking.en_US
