Abstract: | As the use of renewable energy sources in the world continues to grow, the main goal is to modernize Azerbaijan's electricity grid, making it smarter, safer and better integrated between regions. A large part of the greenhouse gases that cover the earth and retain the sun's heat are produced by burning fossil fuels to generate electricity and heat. Fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas are the largest contributors to global climate change, accounting for more than 75% of global greenhouse gas emissions and nearly 90% of all carbon dioxide emissions. To avoid the worst effects of climate change, emissions must be cut in half by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050. Solar, wind, water, waste, and heat from the Earth, the abundant renewable energy sources around us are replenished by nature, releasing little greenhouse gases or pollutants into the air. Fossil fuels still account for more than 80% of global energy production. Currently, about 29% of electricity is obtained from renewable sources. |
