Abstract: The rapid development of scientific and technological progress in our country leads to the fact that the demand for polymer materials is growing every day. Considering that petrochemical production is still characterized by a sufficient amount of production residues, the synthesis of additives that can be used for various purposes through the efficient use of these residues is one of the main challenges facing research scientists working in this field. The pyrolysis process is carried out at the EP-300 installation of the Ethylene-Polyethylene plant, operating under the «Azerkimya» production association, in which the raw material is a low-octane gasoline fraction of direct combustion obtained at the Heydar Aliyev oil refinery in SOCAR. In the research work, heavy pyrolysis resin, which is considered a cubic residue, was effectively used, first the heavy pyrolysis resin, then the naphthalene isolated from the heavy pyrolysis resin was bromomethylated and their bromomethyl derivatives were synthesized. The synthesized products were used as modifiers to improve the physical and mechanical properties of compositions based on ethylene propylene elastomer.
